Inevitable Surprises:  Thinking Ahead in a Time of Turbulence

Peter Schwartz’s Inevitable Surprises presents the view that we all live in a world where surprises are the norm, not the exception. While we often feel that things should be stable, historically upheaval is not a new condition. Even worse, when we are presented with surprises we often have natural reactions which lead to poor decision making, including denial and defensiveness.

Schwartz, a professional futurist, has a very simple view of the future:

• There will be more surprises

• We will be able to deal with them

• We can anticipate many of them

• We can make good assumptions about how they will play out

To better illustrate the inevitableness of future events, Schwartz uses a flood metaphor. If you observe an overflow in a dam upriver you can reasonably assume flooding downriver, even before the flooding occurs.

Petang tadi I was scolded by my bosse…hadduuu kurasakan pudar dlm hatiku…habihla aku kena buang keje nie…caner wei caner? If I want to story now, it’s going to take a loong time & I would feel lagi down..So I’ll talk abt my small bedday lunch tadi…I di celebratekan dgn Rozaila skekali..dier bwk baby dier yg baru 2 weeks tu…tak reti berpantang dier tu..ehehehewe all mkn kat swensen. Nie my bedday kek slepas ditiup lilinnye oleh La & myself

anyway, sementara nak start enjin nak start work,lemme tell u 1 story.                  Masa CNY Hols end jan dis year, I actually went back to Penang but of coz, I didnt tell all my uncles, aunties in fear that they would dump my granparents on me…..nnt akan dibiarkan begitu sahaja…eh, where got time for myself if like dat onee…..so, myself dgn bijaknya telah berkomplot dgn adik-adikku termasuk si kecik tu hahahahahhaha!!!!

Gelak lagi skali HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!

big bro tu cam nerves skett whereas lil bro tu cam koool skett…Anyway, plan kitorg almost kecundang because my unc dowan to take them back on saturday. U see, I’m supposed to come back on saturday & by the time I reach Penang my granparents shd be in Seberang.Not that I dun love them, I do very much! but, each time I come back, my uncs & aunt would just leave them at my house. My parents are doing their Hajj and their amanat to us were, me to take care of my bros & sis, all my mom’s sis & bros to take care of my granparents, who’s actually their own mum & dad. So, there’s 3 of them (exclusive of their other halves) to take care & my only self to take worry only abt my siblings…think abt it for awhile but let’s move on…So, since our plan tak jadi  camtu, me terpaksa pi lepak kat bilik nhawal since my unc tak sampai2 lagi nak amik dorg…nie lah rupe bilik nhawal…kekekekek

But last skali…dpt jugakla ku pulang ke rumahku pabila pacikku mengambil ibubapanya for the weekend. Makasih Nhawal bagi aku numpang & sori ek tak bitau ko aku amek gambo nie sumer…saje nak wat surprise. jgn marah tau sbb "jas sayang kamu" (Nyanyi ikut rentak lagu Dayang).

Anyway, nie dlm opis Rine bawak anak dier dtg same…huhu chummelll dan sgt ensem…penyenyum lak tu…waaaah!! bile besor nnt mesti menjadi rebutan nie…sat me paste gamabr dier yg diambil dgn fon baruku (a’ah, I bought a new fon oredi the one wit kamera laaa…so, korg kena miskol kalo tak me tatau nombor korang!)

I once told my mom in 2004, if by 2005 I’m not married & I’m a bit stable financially, I wanna take 1 anak angkat…a baby girl. Habih ko kena marah! Me mama told me babah n he said even though they know she’s anak angkat but what will other ppl say since I’m not staying in Penanag anymore..sekali bwk balik anak…gone lah citacitaku.

Well, byk kebaikan dr keburukan kan kan…but how I wish I had a kid rite now. I’m prepared to take care of one, to luv, to cry, to clean up… not just for the sake of having a baby..I know it’s hard, but at least I’ve got sumone to look after, and a reason for me not just work n work.

Siap bagi reasons why she should extend the show. I check up Istana Budaya Schedule as well to see whether they are showing anything after PGLTM last show- 26 Feb..since they don’t, why don’t just extend ritteee!!! It’s a really really HUGE success…everybody loves it….Not everybody managed to grab the tickets including meeeee!!
